Yauatcha is a Chinese dimsum teahouse offering an all-day dining experience. Launched in 2004 in London, Yauatcha gained critical acclaims and received it’s Michelin star within a year of opening which it continues to maintain. The chain operates out of London, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and ofcourse in Bangalore. The newest addition to Bangalore, Yauatcha Terrace takes the experience of Dimsums and Drinks to another level. Located on top of the 1MG Road Mall the Yauatcha Terrace gives a complete lounge experience. The Terrace is open only during the weekends starting Friday till Sunday. The drink menu is quite extensive with a lot of emphasis on Wine’s from around the world.
What to Drink?
This open-air 49 seater restaurant is known for its cocktails, Dimsums and small eats dishes. The ambiance is relaxing with soothing music in the background. What makes this place unique is its close connections with nature. The sun lit restaurant is serene in the day and vibrant during the nights. Bangalore skyline could not be witnessed better than at Yauatcha Terrace. We tried a couple of drinks like the Lalu, Citrus Martini, Thea Martini, Black River Martini and Cha La Lia. Most of the drinks are made with tea-infused flavours like the Lalu and the Cha La Lia while the other are made with fruit based drinks.
What to Eat?
The range of Cantonese styled Dimsums is quite uncommon like the Truffle Edamane Dumpling, Vegetable Crystal Dumpling, Vegetables Chui Chow Dumpling and the Vegetarian Poached Peking Duck. The best among these is the Vegetarian Poached Peking Duck dumpling. The dumpling is served with a unique sauce and the taste of this combination is truly amazing. This is a must try!
We also tried the Vegetarian Fried Dimsums Platter, which comes with different dumplings like the Fried Turnip Cake with Vegetables and the Bakes Vegetarian Puff and so on. The Platter is unique as it lets you true a number of different flavors. All the dumplings are served with 2 sauces like the Chilli Sauce and the Schezwan sauce.
