Dolci – The Desserts Cafe
Dolci takes Bangalore folks to just another level when it comes to Desserts and Pizzas. Dolci stands for ‘confectionery’ in Italian and the outlet on Cunningham Road is one of its kind, which would take you to European settings with seating near the streets and colorful arrangements. What makes this place so unique is the effort put into creating some really delicious desserts and Italian savories. Being a family business and practically only love for food, the outlet is making headways when it comes to providing homely environment.
The outlet is divided into 2 parts one concentrating on the Desserts and the other a Pizzeria but you can choose to sit anywhere to experience heaven from both the worlds. The Desserts are simply to die for right from the Red Velvet cakes to the Truffles to Meringue. Dolci recently started cake delivery in all areas of Bangalore. While the Pizzeria not only serves pizza’s but also homemade ravioli and drinks.
We started off with the newest entrant to the menus, the Cucumber Gazpacho, it was the first time I was having a cold soup and the experience was simply gastronomical. You cannot amazing the wonderful taste of the subtle cucumber soup with homemade multi seed Garlic bread. Dolci is only one the handful who serves a cold soup that too a mind-blowing one. Next we had the Grilled Veg Salad with Pesto Dressing, OMG! The veggies were grilled to perfection and then tossed with Pesto sauce. The dish is served with Garlic bread and I finished this salad in no time. Dolci is a place of must-haves and both the dishes will leave you astonished.
We came to Dolci Desserts with the sole idea of having their desserts and the experience would have been incomplete without trying a few. First stop was the Strawberry Meringue, a flour-less dessert with fresh cream and strawberries on top. If you haven’t tried a Meringue earlier, do come to try Dolci to try this one. Next we tried the Fresh Crème Truffles, the first taste of bitter cocoa powder but as you dig in the complete chocolate experience is revealed. A rare combination! The Red Velvet Cake, was on my list for a long time and I didn’t spare a moment to try it. Not too sweet but fresh.
We tried the 6 Layers Cake which is a specialty at Dolci and I wasn’t disappointed. Infact I was awestruck, with the hardwork gone into creating the 6 layers. The best of course was the white chocolate layer which binds everything together. Last we tried the chocolaty Nutella Truffle Crust with a Ferrero Rocher on top and Nutella inside. How could you resist something like this?
