Introducing Tree Tops Bar & Kitchen
Tree Tops Bar & Kitchen is an openair gastro pub located on Lavelle Road and is part of the Hotel Southern Star which also houses two other restaurants. The ambiance of this place is quite romantic with gentle breeze flowing around and witness the night sky of Bengaluru. The décor is modern with high and low tables spread over the floor. The place has plenty of drinks to offer and guests are welcomed with a signature drink called Fire & Ice. The drink is made out of green chilies and is quite potent. Next, we had the Tequila Sunrise, this cocktail is made with Tequila along with orange juice. Loved it! The Planters Punch is the way to go as it was crafted from orange and pineapple juice with angostura bitters. It was sweet and bitter at the same time!
When it comes to food, Tree Tops has all the tricks in its pocket. The Cream of Mushroom was creamy and delicious. With small pieces of mushroom which enhanced the flavors, the soup was topped with blackpepper. The Crispy Jalapeno Poppers were deep fried quick popper filled with cheese and tiny bits of jalapenos. The Rancher’s fries are again deep fried potato fries served with mayo. The Basil Pesto Paneer Tikka had green marination from Basil and Pesto. The Paneer was soft and just melted in the mouth.
For the main course we tried their Makhani Penne Pasta Veg and the Veg Burger. The Pasta was made in a rich tomato makhana sauce. At first we were skeptical about it but it turned out to be decent. The Veg Burger was ok in taste and could have been better. Lastly, we tried their Chocolate Brownie with Icecream which was amazing in taste. The brownie had walnuts and was served with chocolate sauce on top!
Overall, the ambiance stands out for Tree Tops. But the food needs a bit more focus.
