Healthy & Delicious – The Baking Company

The Baking Company is a child of Brigade Hospitality which got into a new avatar about a year back. The Baking Company or TBC can be found in all the clubs owned by Brigade Group along with an outlet in World Trade Center and another at Summit inside Brigade Metropolis Campus. The Baking Company recently opened its first public kiosk at Orion Mall in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. The idea behind the creation of TBC is to offer healthy baking options at reasonable prices without worrying too much about the calorie intake. Most of the product are gluten-free and does not have any preservatives. Tried a variety of products from TBC including their Cupcakes, Desserts, Savories and Shakes.

The logo of ‘The Baking Company’ comes from their signature product, the swirls of Red Velvet Cup-cake. The menu at The Baking Company is quite extensive and focuses on cereals like whole wheat, ragi, jowar, bajra and natural sweeteners like honey, banana and so on. The Red Velvet stands out as it doesn’t have any preservatives and the cream cheese on top was super fresh. We tried the Melting Moments, Masala Cookies, Ragi and Jowar Cookies. The cookies are crumby and have a very buttery taste. All the cookies are amazing in taste and gives a wide variety of healthy options.

The Morning Glory was my favorite as it had the goodness of apples, carrots and is made from whole wheat flour and oats. The Orange Marmalade with fresh cream was literally icing on the cake. A must have! Also had the Jowar Banana Cupcake which has wholesome banana chunks and made out of Jowar. The Baking Company makes it difficult to identify which cereal is being used as it is blended so well with other ingredients. Hats off for that!

TBC also has a range of savories like sandwiches, puffs, burgers and wraps. Tried their Veg Wrap, Panner Tikka Sandwich, Potato Puff and Spinach Corn Sandwich. The Potato Puff was quite flaky and had a spicy potato mix inside. The Veg Wrap was filled with a variety of veggies like capsicum, tomato, onions and so on. The Panner Tikka Sandwich had large chunks of Panner Tikka but with mild flavors. The Spinach Corn Sandwich was creamy with use of fresh spinach.

TBC has a range of shakes like the Mocha Frappe, Strawberry Shake. The Mocha had a strong taste of coffee and was not overly sweet. The Strawberry Shake was thick and would satisfy your sweet indulgence for sure. You can also try the Cutting Chai if you’re a tea-drinker. The Cutting Chai had a strong masala flavor along with ginger.

TBC wouldn’t disappoint when it comes to Desserts. Taste the Melting Temptation which comprises of Chocolate Walnut Brownie along with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on top. The Chocolate Coffee Mouse Cake was just delicious, each of the layers had its own taste and the combination was fabulous. Do try it! The Kiwi Cake was also a delight and had fresh Kiwi in each of the layers.

The Baking Company stands out when it comes to value for money. A complete meal would cost around 200 bucks. The USP of their products is the fact that they are healthy and delicious at the same time.
