Medieval Ecstasy at Masabaa – Lounge & Bar
Having already been to Masabaa – The Treasury, I was excited to be back, but this time we choose to sit at Masabaa – Lounge & Bar which is situated on Club Road, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi. The Lounge is on the 3rd floor and as soon as you enter you come across a huge space. Hawaiian statues welcome you. The place also plays amazing music and have inhouse DJ in some occasions. The thing which sets this place apart is its ambiance. With low dim lights you find yourself in a medieval Bar. Don’t forget to see the awesome display of Flaming Lamborghini at the bar.
We went straight for the drinks and ordered the Brain Fizzer and Masabaa Punch. Brain Fizzer is an awesome drink with a mixture of drinks and flavors. The Masabaa Punch is a blend of juices mixed with Grenadine which gives it a characteristic Pink color, a drink in between citrus and berry flavors. Masabaa is one place where you can try some amazing Hookah. We tried the Double Apple Hookah and the Paan Rasna Hookah. Absolutely love the Paan Hookah with a subtle taste of Rasna.
The menu at Masabaa is similar to its sister concern but due to huge variety we had a lot of option. We straight away went for the Veg Platter which we loved last time which gives you the chance to try a lot of different appetizers. The Bharwa Mushroom was out of the world. The Dahi Kebab were so so in taste. Next we tried the Corn Cheese Roll, spring rolls with stuffing of Corn and Cheese. The Potato Mozzarella Rolls are not to be missed.
We also tried the Ravioli Ala Vodka, homemade ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta cheese. The ravioli is served in cheesy spinach sauce and garlic breads. Next came the Chilli Panner Tikka Pizza, who doesn’t love Panner on Pizza. Tried the Meeze Platter, which has a wide range of dips along with Pita Bread and Falafels. The Falafels were a bit dry but with the combination of different dips the taste was great. The Pasta Mix Sauce was good in taste and topped with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and Garlic Bread.
The Desserts menu is also extensive and we tried the Paan Kulfi, Sweet Pancakes with Vanilla Icecream and the Firni. The best among all was ofcourse the Paan Kulfi with real Rose-petals or Gulkand. The flavors of the Paan was embedded inside the desserts. The Sweet pancakes were stuffed with Dates Halwa and served with Vanilla Icecream. The Firni on the other hand was not very sweet but very smooth in taste with exotic flavors of Cardamom and Almonds and Pistachios.
The ambiance of Masabaa – Lounge and Bar really stands out. The service was good and no complains there. Masabaa is soon coming up with its roof top restaurant in a few weeks. Excited to be back yet, soon!
