The Night Owl
Night Owl is one of the newest pub on Ulsoor Road close to 1MG Mall and right opposite to Conrad. The place is spread over two floor and gives a great scenic view of the Conrad, 1MG Mall and Ulsoor Lake. The ambiance is lively with an open space to dine under the moon. The seating comprises of sofas, high chairs and typical party tables. The menu comprises of Indian and Indo-Chinese delicacies.
We kicked off with some of their signature cocktails like the Summer Chocolate Icecream Party and the Drunken gola. The Summer Party is a treat for chocolate lovers as it is created with Baileys, chocolate icecream, chocolate brownie topped with chocolate sauce. A true chocolate heaven! Loved the drink as well. The Drunken Gola has Kala Khatta, Lemon and rock salt. The amount of ingredient was a bit diluted and could have been amazing with a little more of everything. They really need to work on their Hollywood and Signature cocktails to get going.
The Tom Yum Soup was spicy and tangy. It had variety of vegetables. The Deconstructed Vada Pav was simply amazing. The bonda is placed over a piece of bread and is served with a portion of green chillies. The experience is out of the world. Next, we had the Dal Makhani Tart. A very unique combination of dal makhani in the form of a tart. It was good if not great.
Next, we taste the Paneer Makhani Bao. The bao was made with a soft dough filled with Paneer in makhani sauce. Liked the experiment! The Paneer Tikka Naan is again something new. Paneer Tikka is filled in a soft naan with cheese and then baked. The concept was great but the taste of paneer tikka could have been better. The Honey Chilly Lotus Stem is a crispy combination of sweet and spicy flavors.
Overall, the concepts are Night Owl are new and unique, but, the taste needs a bit more refinement especially the cocktails.
