The Cirkus of Life

The Cirkus, showcases the circus of life. Located in HSR Layout the place is spread over 3 floors with 2 being operational now. The outlet was opened last week with the top being a roof top bar and the other with an air-conditioned lounge. The ambiance is quirky and rustic with a lot of use of cast iron. You will also find bizarre paintings on the wall and strange lightings.  The place has a multi-cuisine and an extensive bar and cocktails menu.

The cocktails are curated by Rashid, one of the top mixologist of Bangalore. He made couple of drinks for us as well. We tried the Tight Tiger and the Cosmopolitan. The Tight Tiger is a special mixture of 7 liquors poured over exotic fruits like grapes, orange, apple, pineapple, olives, cherry and pomegranate. A unique blend and an extraordinary presentation. The Cosmo on the other hand was made in cranberry juice with pomegranate seeds. Truly amazing.  Cirkus - Cocktails and more

Next, we had the Cheers Haalappa and the White Sangria. The Haalappa is made with coffee and the garnish was of cloves and star anise. If you like coffee with a sweet touch this one is for you. The white Sangria is made with Lemongrass and orange. It was unique in every way possible. Last but not the least, Rashid also made a new creation with the use of applewood smoke (check the video below). Fantastic is just an understatement. We were feeling a bit tipsy by then, therefore, we were introduced with Better Hangover. This drink is made with Tamarind and is supposed to cut down on the alcohol level.

When it comes to food you can taste some Indian, Italian and Chinese food here. We started with the Tandoori Kumbh and the Cheese Palak Kurkure. The tandoori mushrooms were filled with paneer and had a spicy marination. Loved it, as it had the right spice level to blend with the drinks. The Cheese Palak Kurkure is a mixture of Spinach and cheese in nuggets format topped with papad bits. Cheesy and delicious!

If you like something ultra spicy then go for the Hawaian Peri Peri Paneer Pizza. This pizza is topped with pineapple, jalapenos and peri peri paneer. The peri peri paneer was so potent that it will blow your minds off, you can feel the peppers working on your lips and mouth giving a slight ting. The pizza was delicious, but the peri peri paneer took it to the next level. Lastly, we had the Spaghetti Aglio Oglio. A simple dish made with olives, sundried tomatoes along with spaghetti topped with parmesan cheese and garlic bread on the side. After the pizza this was exactly what we needed. To cool everything off, we ordered the Walnut brownie with vanilla icecream. Simple classic dish that cannot go wrong.
