The Taste of Mexico – Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Café is one stop destination if you are looking for fabulous rock music, delicious food and scrumptious drinks. They even have different food festivals from time to time. We visited them recently for the ‘Taste of Mexico’! You can taste some of the hottest Mexican flavors and smoky cocktails at HRC until the 16th of September. A special menu has been curated for this festival as well which includes a variety of traditional dishes. Read the ‘Nachos Gone Wild’ food festival post on HRC which happened earlier this year.

The special menu for the ‘Taste of Mexico’ has a number of smoky hot cocktails made with Tequila. We tried a handful of them like the Cranberry and Lychee Margarita. This cocktail has citrus flavors from Lime, Lychee and Cranberries with bits of Cranberries at the bottom. The glass is decorated with salt on the rim. Next, we had the Troublemaker, it is made with Jalapeno bits, Cointreau and smoked pineapple syrup. The drink is simply fabulous, and taste of the smoked pineapple makes it worthwhile to have it. One of the best cocktails combination we had in a while.

We also tried the Shot in the Head and the Tequila Slammer. Both these shots are made with tequila and really gives you a good kick. The Shot in the head is red while the Slammer has Sprite, slam it and drink it! The Classic Blue Margarita is made in a large glass and is designed for two. The Diablo is made with seasonal fruits like Mango and cucumber; it is topped with ginger beer. The cocktail menu is refreshing and has some really unique flavors.

The Mexican festival is home to some of the hottest dishes like the Loaded Southwest Potato Skins. The dish is of Baked Potato skins with smoked chipotle, spicy bean mix, salsa and mixed cheese with Southwest sauce and mayo on top. An exotic spicy dish and a must have for all food lovers!!! Next came the Wild West Nachos which is yet another delicious experience. Smoky salsa of sweet corn, and peppers are spread over Crisp Corn Nachos. The combo is topped with tangy cheese sauce and melted cheddar with jalapeno and green onions on top. The Wild West Nachos is one of the best Nachos dish in the city. Great combination!

Next, we had the Dyna Bites which are deep golden fried poppers made with different type of cheese and jalapenos. This cheese makes it gooey; the dish is served with a sweet cheese sauce. It was a bit salty for our palate. We even had the Cowboy Style Taco Burger. The patty is made with a mix of taco spiced polenta, sweet corn, beans, spices and vegetables with layers of tangy salsa, swiss cheese, avocado and nacho straws. This is a gigantic burger and the nacho straws makes it crunchy.

The service at Hard Rock Café needs a special mention. All the staff are cheerful and make sure you have a good time. Special thanks to Chef Madhu for having us and to Santosh aka Sandy for the hospitality. The Mexican food festival is packed with exotic dishes and flavorsome cocktails. Don’t miss it!
