Hoot – The Mesmerizing Pub

We are always in the state of dilemma to find the next perfect place for the best weekend party. Well here is Hoot to solve this problem this weekend. Located on Sajrapur Road, Bangalore, this 40,000 square feet place is making waves around the city. Hoot provides a quirky ambiance with open sky seating and a poolside bar to make things even better. The place also has a massive micro-brewery where they serve some amazing beers.

It is all about the ambiance at Hoot. The view from top will mesmerize you; this place is filled with small ponds, a library and ultra quirky seating arrangements. Most of the décor is made out of rusty iron or wood giving a raw feeling to the entire experience. While the menu is packed with twists in each of the dishes.

To begin we tried the beer samplers – the Belgian White and the Dark Abbey. Both had a unique flavor created from the best of hops and spices. We also tried the few cocktails like the Indian inspired Street food Martini and the Jalapeno Margarita. Can you imagine a cocktail with garam masala and jeera powder, well here is the Street food martini to surprise you with Chaat Masala on the rim. The fusion of different flavors in simply amazing. While the Jalapeno Margarita was made with loads of Jalapeno to give an extra kick with sea salt on the rim. The flavors of Jalapeno just sipped in so well, that once you start drinking it, you just cannot stop!

The drinks are best tried with appetizers like the Hariyali Paneer Tikka or the Fried Baby corn Chilly Plum. The Hariyani Paneer Tikka was a different preparation with a thick layer of coriander, mint on top of paneer pieces; these are then cooked over charcoal. The Fried Baby corn Chilly Plum is yet another dish with a twist. The Chilly Plum sauce gave the dish a sweet as well as tangy flavor. Loved it! Next we had the Stuffed Fried Mushrooms, made with Cajun spices and cheese stuffed into the mushroom and then deep-fried. The Dahi Tawa Kebab was made with hung curd and Indian spices. Found the dish a bit too dry with an overpowering taste if cardamom.

We order the Farm House Pizza which is made with a plenty of vegetables like broccoli, zucchini, colorful peppers, mushrooms and onions. This thin crusty pizza is indeed a house specialty. The next dish was the Mushroom Risotto. The risotto had rich and creamy taste; and is a perfect dish for the main course. Just like the Veg Dum Biryani, this dish is highly recommended. Made with extra long rice and aromatic spices and served with raita. And to finish the evening we had the Nutella Banana Toasty. This dessert is made with a crumple as the base with banana and Nutella cream on top.

Hoot is the destination to head this weekend as it serves food with a twist along with amazing choices when it comes to beer and cocktails.
