An Exotic spread – Nimisserie

The brain child of Chef Nimish Bhatia, Nimisserie will take you to a gastronomical journey you would never forget. Opened only a few months back and located on Wood Street, right on the junction of Hosur Road and Brigade Road, in Bangalore / Bengaluru the outlet is spread over 2 floors. The ambiance is simply stunning with large windows and royal seating arrangement. Almost every dish that Chef Nimish has created plays around exotic flavors. You may choose between the ala-carte menu or the floating lunch buffet. We tried the Floating Lunch buffet which is spread between Monday to Saturday from 12 to 3pm only and gives you a wide range of dishes to try. The buffet is only for 650+ taxes, which is a complete value for money compared to the exotic dishes on the spread.

Nimisseria has 3 mini-open-kitchens called the Kebaberie, the Naanerie and the Tawakerie , which specializes in Kebab’s, Bread’s and Tawa items respectively. We started off the buffet with the Tomato and Basil Shorba, the every first sip tells you the story which would soon unfold before your senses. The shorba was simply amazing with the subtle taste of basil and fresh pepper. We tried the Dal Chaat and the Tandoori Gobi from the Tawakerie. While the Tandoori Gobi was hot and exploding with flavors the Dal Chaat was on the other end of the spectrum, calm and subtle. The fresh Virgin Mojito was the best companion with the appetizers, made from fresh oranges and mint, just perfect in all respects.

The floating buffet at Nimisserie is unique when it comes to the Salad and the Pickles and the Papad section. The range of salads in overwhelming from ribbons of carrots to sev cucumber to Patiala Pyaaz to Cucumber Peanut salad and so many more. The Papad and Pickles section shares the same story with an extensive range of chutneys as well.

The main course of Nimisserie is not to be missed. When we visited the curries on display where the Taar Korma with Shallots, Mango Tomato Chilli Paneer, Pithid Katli Yakh Masala, Bangali styled Aloo Dum, the Kaale Masale Ki Sabzi, Amritsari Maa Chollan Ki Daal and the Bhaingan Bharta with muttar and pakodi. The Mango Tomato Chilli Paneer and the Pithid Katli Yakh Masala were out of the world. Almost every curry was unique in taste and the style of preparation. And the best part was to try these curries with the breads from the Naanerie. I tried the Beetroot, Rosemary and the Goat cheese Kulcha; the lachha paratha and the plain mini-Naan. The Kulcha was delicious and there are even more interesting ones like the Green Apple Chooran Kulcha, the Apricot and Chilli Kulcha to name a few. We also tried the Vegetable Semiya Biryani with Green Dumplings filled with vegetables, the biryani was amazing.

No meal is over without desserts, so we tried the flavored Creams comprising of Strawberry, Kiwi and Mango, Banana Carrot Cake and Nimisserie Um Ali. The meal ended at the Tawakerie with the Crepes with Fresh Cream and Mango. The hot crepe with fresh cream and mango is just a different story altogether.

Overall the buffet at Nimisserie is sumptuous and comforting. The taste of each of the dish is filled with flavors of fusion.
