Pan-Indian Food Treat from Zzungry

Zzungry is one of the newest entrants to the food delivery business in Bangalore. The main focus market for Zzungry is complete Pan-Indian food, which though has a lot of players but only a few live up-to its promise. So was very excited to try authentic North Indian food dishes. Zzungry currently operates for 2 different locations one from HSR and the other being Indiranagar and cover fairly a large portion of Bangalore. Zzungry plans to open few more outlets in other parts of the city very soon. You can also order from their website. Though Zzungry has a lot of interesting combo’s to choice from, we ordered from the ala-carte menu. Ordered almost everything from the vegetarian menu. The food arrived on time and was very neatly packed in royal cardboard boxes while the food was nicely packed in containers.

To start with we had the Mushroom Churchure, Tandoori Malai Broccoli and the Malai Paneer as appetizers. The Mushroom Churchure is an Indian version of the Spring Roll with minced mushrooms and paneer inside. This dish was enticing especially with the homemade green chutney which comes with the starters. Next we tried the Tandoori Malai Broccoli which had soft pieces of broccoli cooked in the tandoor and marinated with delicious Malai or heavy cream. The taste of the Malai Broccoli was outstanding with a subtle smoky flavor from the tandoor. A must, must try! The Malai Paneer were marinated Paneer cubes cooked inside the tandoor, the smoke of the tandoor seeped deep inside the paneer giving it an amazing taste. The appetizers blew my mind and I could wait to try the main course.

The main course comprised of Veg Shubnam Curry and Kofta E Gulmarg. The Veg Shubnam Curry was made in a tomato based gravy and had veggies like corn, babycorn and mushrooms along with Paneer cubes. A great curry to go with a variety of breads. The Kofta E Gulmarg are soft balls of khoya with dry fruits in a rich cashew nut gravy. This is a fantastic curry. The curries were accompanied with Phulka E Shabnam and the Nachini Bhutta Paratha. Both the breads were really healthy and had a great taste as well. The balance of health and taste can be seen perfectly here. The Nachini Bhutta Paratha is a rare combination of ragi with potato and corn into a delectable roti form. While the Phulka E Shabnam is made out of spinach and other vegetables.

We also tried the Veg Shimla Pulao, which had long basmati rice cooked with a variety of vegetables especially red capsicum. The aroma of the pulao was remarkable. The pulao was topped with caramelized onions which gave this dish a sweet end.
