An unforgettable experience at ‘Uzzuri Deli’
Uzzuri Deli is located on Janpath just few steps away from Connaught Place. Delhi. Uzzuri moved its restaurant from Greater Kailash Market to Janpath just few weeks back. Absolutely loved the food at Uzzuri the first time and this time was excited to try it again. The place is very neat and the placement of tables is outstanding. The place is decorated with wooden art work and the flooring is also wooden given this place a European street café look. With sofas on one side and the other being wooden chairs there are plenty of options to seat. Uzzuri Deli serves continental dishes and also houses a ocktail bar on the top floor. This outlet showcases the map of Connaught Place and other famous places on its wall with the co-ordinated of its location (28.632783, 77.218265). We started off with complimentary shots of citrus juice.
Drinks –
Watermelon Cooler – Fresh Watermelon pulp with mint, a combination much needed in summers. 8/10
Kaffir Lime Mojito – Use of Kaffir Lime in a Mojito, need I tell more. 7/10
Uzzuri Fresh – Fresh citrus fruit juices in an irresistible form. 8/10
Cucumber Cooler – Another summer cooler made from fresh cucumber pulp and crushed ice. 7/10
Green Glory – Drink made from Green Apple juice with a green apple slice on top. Love the taste of the drink. 8/10
Saharan Martini – Martini made from Amarula cream with chocolate garnish on top. The blend was mind blowing because the combination of chocolate and liquor is hard to find. 9/10
Melon Delight – Subtle flavors of watermelon, ginger and mint. Great summer cooler. 8/10
Cucumber Mojito – Cucumber Pulp with rock salt with table salt on the rims. Amazing in taste. 8/10
Appetizers –
Lentils Salad – Salad made from different Lentils, the dressing made the lentils more flavorful. One of the best salads ever tasted. A must try! 10/10
Feta Cheese Balls Salad – Fresh leaves salad with deep fried Feta Cheese Balls. 8/10
Veg Burger Sliders – Veg Burger Sliders served with fries and mayo. You get 5 sliders per plate. 9/10
Button Mushroom Patties – Finely diced button mushroom topped with caramelized onion and topped with a thin layer of roasted bread. The combination was superb in taste just wish the bread was a little thicker. The dish was served with homemade garlic dip. 8/10
Vegetable Tempura – Deep fried vegetables like Zucchini, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrot and Potato, served with homemade sweet chili sauce. This dish goes really well with drinks. 7/10
Main Course –
Farm Fresh Risotto – Risotto made in creamy garlic puree with vegetables like Peas, tomato’s, zucchini and pepper. To give it a fresh feel the Risotto was topped with fresh crushed pepper and Parmesan cheese. Great dish when it comes to flavors, the rice was cooked perfectly. 8/10
Farm Fresh Pizza – Every other place serves Pizza but Uzzuri Deli does it better. The farm pizza was made from homemade tomato sauce and topped with red, yellow and green pepper’s and olives. The best thing about this dish was the roasted peppers. An absolute must! 9/10
Desserts –
Homemade Cake with Caramel Sauce – Was not sure how this dish would turn out to be, but at the end it blew me away. OMG! You cant try a dessert better than this. The combination of cake with caramel sauce is absolutely Divine. 10/10
Red Velvet Cake – Homemade Red Velvet cake with layers of cream cheese. The flavors were amazing. 7.5/10
Black Velvet – Now here is something that is not found everywhere. The Black velvet was a delight to the taste buds. The cake was soft and the cream was fresh. 9/10
Waffles – Waffles decorated with powdered sugar and served with maple syrup! 7/10
Overall, Uzzuri Deli live upto its expectations. The prices are decent and the portion sizes are ample. Service was great as the waiter was warm and took care of the choirs without any complains. Uzzuri Deli gave me one of the best desserts experience I had in a while!
