MRP for Maximum Return Price

You must have always heard that MRP stands for Maximum Retail Price , but here in Bangalore , shopkeepers have given it a new defination Maximum Return Price. Things like Milk, Curd , Cold Drinks etc etc are sold at a price more than the MRP (which is printed). A Rs.20 Coke/Pepsi bottle would cost you Rs.21 or even Rs.22. This extra money is charged in the name of “Cooling Charges” or “Transportation Charges“. Even basic things like Milk and Curd are charged extra money on various weird reasons.

  • Didnt we drink cold Coke/Pepsi in any other city @ MRP?
  • Dont the milk companies, cold drink gaint’s give shopkeepers their products without charging any transportation fee?

Yes , we do.
Then why extra charge. Any product sold on a retail outlet has 5-10% or even more profit on MRP. There too shopkeepers of Bangalore are not satisfied with this percentage.
Please stop this nuiscense and dont take things from such shopkeepers. And do complaint about them at www.consumercomplaints.in .
