Experience the whole of Asia at Sriracha

Sriracha is a contemporary Pan Asian restaurant located in UB City, Bangalore. From cuisines ranging from Thailand to Indonesia and from Burma to Singapore, there is something here for everyone. The ambiance is simple yet modern with a large central bar common between Sriracha and Sanchez (their Mexican sister concern). Sriracha brings home the best dishes from Asia and culminates it into one menu mastered by Chef Vikas Seth, who brings his culinary experiences alive.

The drinks menu is also inspired with Asian herbs, condiments and fruits. The cocktails are made by mixologist Robert who has been awarded multiple times for his creations. We had some of his creations like the Asian Night and the Sunshine. He even created a cocktail with pineapple juice and coconut which was super yummy.

But when it comes to food Sriracha takes the experience to just another level. To kick off we had the Som Tam Salad made with Green Papaya and Raw Mango. The salad is made fresh right infront of your eyes. Everything is pounded together with chillies, green beans, peanuts, cherry tomatoes, house sauce and lime. The salad was topped with Grapefruit and Malta. The taste of the Som Tam salad was incredible. It had the right balance of sweet and sour taste and the incredible freshness made things even more interesting.

Sriracha is one place where you will find plenty of dumplings served with interesting combinations. The Wild Mushroom Purple Dumplings is served with Chilli Soy. The purple color is from Chinese cabbage extract and the taste is amazing. Next, we tried the Chinese Cabbage and Pak Choy Dumplings served with Spiced Lemon Grass sauce. The sauce was nothing less than incredible and the combination was mind blowing. But my personal favorite was the Spiced Broccoli and Celery Dumplings which comes with Ginger Soy. This is packed with flavors and the crunchy texture just works for me. Lastly, we had the Spinach and Vegetable Dumplings with Coriander Chilli Soy. Just no word, eat it to believe it. Sriracha packs a wide variety of dumplings which are succulent and delicious.

Well dumplings are just the tip of the iceberg. At Sriracha you can taste the whole of Asian cuisine. Like the Sriracha Tofu and Crispy Shredded Potatoes made with steamed buns. This is a power packed dish with unbelievable taste. The soft bun with crunchy potatoes, tofu and house-made sauce is a match made in heaven. If that was all, the Rock Corn with Sriracha Mayo is a spiced Corn fritters dish. These bite-sized fritters will explode in your mouth. Amazing!! The Pandan Leaf wrapped Spiced Cottage Cheese with coriander chilli soy is yet another example of Chef Vikas’s creations. The dish is made with Malai Paneer and as the name suggests it is one of the softest paneer we have ever tried. And the Coriander chilli soy is icing on the cake. Hats off!! But, the Shichimi Togarashi Potato and Vermicelli on sugar cane stick with sweet chilli sauce was so so. The potato paste didn’t work for me, though the presentation is exceptional.

Sriracha has an exclusive menu when it comes to Sushi. We had the Dragon Roll with Avacado and Cream Cheese Uramaki. The cream cheese just melted in the mouth and the combination was astounding. But the Asparagus Tempura Roll stood out. This sushi roll is made with tempura leftovers and the taste is out of the world. You will fall in love with Sushi once you taste both these dishes.

The next dish needs no introduction, this Burmese bowl meal is slowing gaining the much needed attention. The Khow Suey at Sriracha is nothing less than ordinary. The dishes comes with a number of condiments like lime, peanuts, chives, brown onions, chillies, garlic chips among others. A bowl full of noodles, steamed vegetables and coconut sauce is mixed together. The diy (do it yourself) concept is what makes this dish so unique and different every-time. A must try!!

When it comes to desserts Sriracha has some unique ones. The Sumatra Dark Chocolate Mousse is served with coconut cream and crushed peanut tuile. The dark chocolate combined with soft coconut cream brings alive an irresistible creamy mousse. The Seasonal Fresh Fruits and Jello with Malaysian shaved ice and condensed milk is a bowl full of Asia. This fruit salad is served with condensed milk made with different milks. Once you start having it you just cant stop.

Overall, Sriracha is an incredible experience. Sometimes even incredible seems to be an understatement. The dishes curated by Chef Vikas needs to be cherished by everyone who loves to try different food. The taste and presentation are simply insane.
