1131 – Be at the New!

1131 is a modern bar and kitchen located in Indiranagar 100 feet road. Opened about a month ago this place is huge as it takes up three floors. They even have a floor dedicated to a lounge for private parties. The other two floors are open with a central bar on one lowest floor. The seating arrangement are well adjusted with open ceiling. The private lounge even houses a simulated Golf course and you can pay extra to use it and have lots of fun with friends and family. The atmosphere is so lively that you can spend hours here. The music is another plus point here and you will find a house DJ playing amazing numbers all day long!

What is really special at 1131 is their menu. Being a lounge bar, it has can extreme large menu comprising of Indian, Continental, Chinese and Italian dishes. The bar menu is also similar and has can array of modern cocktails. Don’t forget to try Barbados, a drink made out of coconut syrup and water along with mint springs. Loved the subtle taste of mint in this Caribbean inspired drink. The next one was the Curry Patta, a delicious fusion of Kahlua, Espresso, Orange, Curry Leaves, lemongrass and pineapple. Amazing in taste and you can choose your side – salted or plain.

We also tried the Split Decision made with Bailey’s, Triple sec, milk and fresh cream. You will have a hard time leaving this drink. The last one was Rob Roy’s Head, an extreme cocktail made with Sweet Vermouth, Angostura bitters with Maple Foam. The Maple foam made the drink creamy.

1131 has an amazing array of healthy mocktails to try from as well like the Watermelon Refresher. It was made out of Watermelon, Rosemary, Strawberry, Honey and Coconut water. With an after taste of strawberry and rosemary this was great. If you are looking for something potent, then don’t forget to try their Golgappa Tequila Shots. A Golgappa is filled with condiments and needs to be eaten with a Tequila Shots. Extreme!!

When it comes to food 1131 has dishes for everyone. The first item we ordered was the Signature Nachos. Made with house-made Tortilla chips and topped with spicy red beans, salsa, iceberg lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. Though I am not a big fan of Nachos, but I really felt in love with this one, as it was delicious. The house made tortilla chips made all the difference. Another amazing dish was the Celebrity Shrooms. These Crispy golden batter fried stuffed mushrooms are tossed in peanut butter, cilantro and chili glaze. The dish leaves a creamy texture at the end and we finished the plate in no time.

1131 has a wide variety of dimsums to choose from and we got few of each. The Guang Dong Dimsum’s comprised of Celery Silken Tofu, French Mushroom Duxelle, Szechuan Glazed Vegetables Sui Mai and Wasabi Green Pea and Sage Bao. The Sui Mai was spicy while the Celery Silken Tofu and the Bao were low of spices. The Broccoli and Water Chestnuts in Salt and Pepper style is a subtle dish. The Shenzhen Tofu are glazed in a fiery chili paste with large chunks of onion and bell peppers and spring greens on top! Sweet and spicy at the same time!

The outlet also has a good variety of desserts. Like the Mango Pannacotta and the Sizzling 1131. The Mango Pannacotta was served in mango puree. The dessert was bit off the track. The Sizzling 1131 is a sticky chocolate walnut brownie with vanilla icecream. The brownie is made in house and is so soft.

Overall the experience at 1131 is only of its kind. The music, the food and the drinks are world class. We could only try half the menu this time and promise to go back for the rest. Thanks to Mr. Balaji and Mr. Adarsh for their amazing hospitality.
