Wenger’s, Connaught Place, New Delhi
Wenger’s at Connaught Place is no doubt a legend. A trip to Connaught Place would never be complete without paying homage to the legend. The outlet has been there for decades and hasn’t changed much. It is always buzzing with people and there is almost no space by meal time. This is a very famous confectionary house and sells pastries, cakes, snacks items, biscuits and so much more.
But there is ‘no’ placea to sit inside the shop which makes it very uncomfortable. Also none of the items are served on plates, they are just packed, by default. To order you need to pass through atleast 3 counters! One taking your order, the other where payment is made and the last which gives you your belongings.
We tried the Fig Tart and the Chocolate Brownie. The Fig Tart was good but not great. The Chocolate Brownie lacked a bit of sugar and was a bit hard. The taste was so so. Next we tried the Vegetable Baguette, the bread was a little hard but I loved the taste. The Baguette was coated with veggies and cheesy goodness.
It’s hard to find a place that sells confectioneries and snacks in Delhi at the same time and most importantly is good enough to be tried. Wenger’s tops here. The service is good but the items are a little over-priced when compared to other places.
The Scorecard:-
Food/Taste – 7/10
Service – 7/10
Value for Money – 6/10
Ambiance – 5/10
Quantity/Quality – 7/10
Overall Rating – 3.2/5
A little over-hyped but still good if not great.
