Kitchen Of Awadh, DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon
I have been waiting for a long time to try this place. Kitchen of Awadh is situated at Supermart 1, Gurgaon. The seating arrangement is on simple wooden chairs and tables but the interior has a hint of Nawabi/Awadhi lineage.
The menu is very limited especially for Vegetarians and the dishes can be counted on your finger tips. All the items are prepared in RO water and the same is served to the customers. The RO water has a strong smell as if the filters were changed recently. They need to taste it before serving it to the customers. We straightaway went for the main course as we were very hungry.
We ordered the Panner Makhani and the Dal Tadka along with the Ulte Tawe ka Paratha and Butter Naan. The order took almost 15minutes. They serve a small cup of onions and green chutney along with any order. The quantities of the items were decent. The Panner Makhani had a rich tomato gravy and was quite tangy as if lemon was added to it. The gravy had thin slices of soft Panner added to it. Very nice preparation.
The Dal Tadka was a gem. The yellow lentils were not mashed and gave a very distinct taste. The Dal was topped with a decent amount of butter. Overall the Dal is to die for. The Ulte Tawe ka Paratha is a thin roti made out of Maida and baked till it is crisp from outside and soft inside. A decent preparation but not worth the money. The Butter Naan on the other hand was very soft and almost melted in your mouth.
No complains on the service front.
